Shoulder Arthroscopy

Shoulder arthroscopy is a surgical procedure that allows your orthopaedic surgeon to repair injuries to your shoulder joint without making a major incision in your skin. Arthroscopic surgery involves a tiny camera, called an arthroscope, which is inserted into your skin through a small incision along the affected area. This camera allows your surgeon to see all of the structures of your shoulder and perform repairs to multiple injuries during a single procedure.

Arthroscopic shoulder surgery can be used to treat a number of shoulder disorders. For example, arthroscopy can be used to repair a torn rotator cuff, debride diseased cartilage, repair a torn labrum or remove a diseased distal clavicle. Even minor shoulder problems in your muscles, tendons, and cartilage can be repaired using an arthroscope in most circumstances.

Shoulder arthroscopy is typically a same-day procedure.  To learn more about shoulder arthroscopy, or to schedule an appointment with one of our specialty-trained shoulder surgeons at Western Orthopaedics, please call 303-321-1333.
